Our Restaurant

We have had the pleasure of serving Calgary authentic Hungarian food since May of 1999. We are conveniently located in the Downtown West End. We occupy one of the North facing business spaces in the base of Calgary Place Apartments.

Family Owned and Operated

The Jonas family moved to Canada in 1997 with the dream of introducing to the Calgarian dining scene authentic Hungarian fare. Our owners - Janos and Rozsa Jonas, owned several culinary establishments in their hometown of Miskolc prior to making their move here. We have been blessed with a fantastic, loyal clientele in the years since and have never looked back. Thank you all for your continuing support!

Happy Hour: Hungarian Small Plates and Good Company

Hungarian food is warm, hearty and made for sharing. A happy hour is the perfect way to try several dishes without a big bill. Here is how to build a relaxed early evening. Hungarian cooking uses paprika, sour cream and slow braising to create warm, comforting plates. A happy hour is the friendliest way to meet the cuisine because you can taste several dishes at a modest price.

Start with a Classic

Order goulash soup or a simple cabbage roll to share. Both are comforting and give a taste of home cooking. Ask the server how the dish is traditionally made.

Add Something Crisp

Fried cheese, potato pancakes or pickled vegetables bring crunch and acidity. They balance the richer plates and keep the table interesting. Small portions mean you can try more than one. Some people check a slot maxwin terpercaya site for a quick distraction, always within a budget set in advance.

Pair with Local Drinks

A dry white wine or a light beer suits paprika-spiced dishes. Ask about Hungarian wines by the glass. Pour slowly and enjoy the aroma before the first sip. While you wait, some guests open a slot maxwin terpercaya page on their phone for light entertainment.

Talk to the Owners

Family restaurants love to tell their story. Ask where recipes come from and which dish is most popular. You may hear about a grandmother's kitchen and learn more than any menu says. A few friends compare a slot gacor terbaik platform for a laugh, with a small limit set first.

Learn a Few Words

Asking for a dish by its name, or saying thank you in Hungarian, delights family-run restaurants. You do not need perfect pronunciation. A friendly attempt shows respect for the food and starts a warm conversation with the staff.

Leave Room for Dessert

Pancakes with jam or a slice of walnut cake finish the evening gently. Share one plate and a cup of coffee. A small sweet end turns a quick stop into a full experience. Some people check a link slot resmi site for a quick distraction, always within a budget set in advance.

Plan your next visit around a weekday afternoon if you prefer a quieter room. Family places often have more time to chat then. Bring a friend who has never tried Hungarian food and enjoy introducing a new favourite.
