As many of you already know, after 24 wonderful years of serving the Calgary community, we will be closing the doors of Jonas' Hungarian Restaurant. We wanted to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who has been a part of our journey. Your unwavering support, kind words, and shared moments have enriched our lives beyond measure. We have had the privilege of witnessing celebrations, milestones, and even quiet, intimate gatherings. It is these memories that will forever hold a special place in our hearts. You have become more than just customers to us; you have become an extended family.

From the very beginning, our mission was to bring a taste of Hungary to Calgary and to create an experience that transported you to the vibrant streets of Budapest. We poured our hearts and souls into every dish we served, every recipe we meticulously crafted, and every detail we considered. Our hope was always to provide you with an authentic culinary journey, accompanied by warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance. We hope that, in some small way, we were able to achieve this and create cherished memories for you.

However, as with any journey, there comes a time for a new chapter to unfold. Circumstances change, priorities shift, and the inevitable winds of time blow us in different directions. It is in this spirit that we have made the difficult decision to close Jonas' Hungarian Restaurant. While we may be closing our physical doors, the memories, friendships, and connections we have made will remain etched in our hearts forever.

Our Restaurant

We have had the pleasure of serving Calgary authentic Hungarian food since May of 1999. We are conveniently located in the Downtown West End. We occupy one of the North facing business spaces in the base of Calgary Place Apartments.

Family Owned and Operated

The Jonas family moved to Canada in 1997 with the dream of introducing to the Calgarian dining scene authentic Hungarian fare. Our owners - Janos and Rozsa Jonas, owned several culinary establishments in their hometown of Miskolc prior to making their move here. We have been blessed with a fantastic, loyal clientele in the years since and have never looked back. Thank you all for your continuing support!
